April 18--I finally entered a dog show after a long winter.  Tempe was awarded Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed for 1 pt.  Cagney earned Reserve Winners Bitch at her very first show.  We decided that a little bit more work was needed, so we stayed for the match and Cagney was Best of Breed and earned a Sporting Group 1 in the puppy match.  She did much better!  I also showed Sam for my friend Lois Almendinger.  Sam was bred by Kathy Rust.  He was awarded Winners Dog and Best Puppy, and later in the day we were given a Puppy Sporting Group 3 for our efforts.

June 2009--July 2009

Cagney was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch at the Twin Cities Vizsla Club Specialty in Jordan, MN the beginning of June.

My dear, dear Tempe was Reserve Winners Bitch  to the major (her 8th!!) at the Fargo-Moorhead Shows the beginning of June.  The next day she was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a rare neuromuscular disease.  Please see her page to read more about her story.  She is a trooper, and I will fight with and for her as long as she is willing to do so.  Most of these two months were dedicated to my school schedule as well as getting Tempe better.  She has improved very much over the course of a couple of months!  We will pray for continued improvement, and hopefully remission.

August 2009

August 1, 2--After a couple of month hiatus from the show world, I entered Cagney in a show in LaCrosse, WI.  She did marvelously----going Winners Bitch on Saturday for 1 point.  We also convinced Jesi, who owns Rowan (a Colby/Moxie puppy) to enter and I am very pleased to announce he was Winners Dog on Sunday for his first 2 points!  He did awesome, and Jesi has done a great job of getting this little baby ready for the ring!

August 8--We  traveled to Albert Lea where Cagney and Rowan were entered.  On Saturday, Cagney was awarded Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best of Breed for a 3 point major!!! Rowan, in his 3rd time in the ring, was awarded Winners Dog for a 3 point major, as well as Best Puppy!  Later that day, Rowan went on to earn a Puppy Sporting Group 1!  We also had pictures of Cagney and Rowan taken....they turned out great, and I can't wait to get them in the mail.

August 9--Another day in Albert Lea---the counts dropped, but Cagney was awarded Winners Bitch for 1 pt, and she now has 11 points and both majors.  Rowan was Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Breed for 2 more points from the 6-9 mo puppy class.  A total of 4 times in the ring, he has won 3 of the 4 times, and now has 7 points and 1 major.

August 14--The Puget Sound Vizsla Club held their specialty out in the Seattle area.  Gracie (Colby/Moxie) who lives with my aunt and uncle, was awarded Winners Bitch for a 5 pt major out of the 6-9 month puppy class!!!!  Not to be outdone by his "sister" Rowdy (Glory/Strike) was awarded BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW!!!  Rowdy will now forever be known as Intl BIS, BISS CH Panacea's Rawhide CGC.  Thank you to breeder judge Linda Kelly for finding these two dogs in a very nice entry!

Not bad considering they only started competing in January of this year!!!!  Way to go Dale, Katherine, and Chili!

September 12--Cagney earned two more points by going Winners Bitch at the Rochester Kennel Club Show under Paula Hartinger, bringing her total to 13 points with both her majors.  Gracie also earned 2 more points by going Winners Bitch and Best of Winners out in WA!  Gracie now has 7 points, 1 major and just turned 8 months old!!  Goooooo Gracie!

September 18---Colby was brought up to Inver Grove Heights today for semen collection to be shipped to "Bella" (Triple S Boshar Bella Cane Rosso CD JH).  If you would like to know more information regarding this breeding, or our other upcoming breedings,  please see the puppy page.

October--December 2009

The end of the year proved to be very busy!  It was hunting season, where Jeff made a couple of trips out to SD where the birds were plentiful and the dogwork was incredible!  It is amazing how those wild birds can prove to be great trainers for the dogs.

The end of October, Melissa traveled to Charlotte, NC to attend the VCA National Events.  I had a wonderful time, and the dogs showed well.  Cagney made the "cut" in both sweepstakes and the regular classes.  Rowan proved he could compete with the big boys and placed 4th in Sweepstakes and 3rd in the regular classes.  I was very proud of Mr. Rowan!!

In November, I entered both Cagney and Tempe in a local show.  Tempe was WB/BOW for 2 pts on Saturday to finish her CH and Cagney was WB/BOW for 2 pts on Sunday to finish her CH!  Amazing!
