Tempe was meant to only be "temporary", however, she quickly warmed our hearts by her sweet disposition.  When Jeff saw how she reacted to birds, he handed me her papers and said "you better send these in...this dog isn't going anywhere."

Tempe is Avery's best friend...these two have definitely formed a bond that will be lifelong.  There is nothing sweeter to watch than the interaction between a little girl and her dog.

In June of 2009, Tempe was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the nerve junction.  The body attacks the nerve junction so it is not able to fire, enabling the muscles to contract.  This leads to a significant weakness.   Often, dogs with Myasthenia Gravis also develop megaesophagus, as there are voluntary muscles along the esophagus, and Tempe is no exception.  She has to eat her food as a slurry in a vertical position and remain that way for 20-30 minutes afterward.  Tempe has a will to live, love, and please....and we will fight with and for her as long as she is willing to do so.  We are hopeful that Tempe's MG will go into remission....but until then we take it day by day.    Please watch her page for further updates.

Tempe finished her CH on November 21, 2009 by going Best of Winners for her last two points!  I am so proud of my girl and her perseverence!
