Glory is the 2nd vizsla to enter our household, and she was to be the foundation for Panacea Vizslas. However, sometimes life doesn't turn out like you expect it to. In late 2007, Glory was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma, underwent chemotherapy treatments for 6 months and has been in remission ever since. Because of this, her breeding career was cut short. She was bred one time to CH Lyons Strike Gold CDX JH ROM and produced 8 lovely puppies.
I fell in love with Glory right from the beginning; and Debbie of Jakra Vizslas was gracious enough to let her pick puppy leave with me. Glory had the spunk, attitude and beauty to be all that I wanted in the show ring!
As a young dog, Glory was shown very sparingly and finished her CH quite easily. Some of her accomplishments as a young dog include:
*2 majors from the 6-9 month puppy class
*Best in Sweepstakes Winner 2004 TCVC Specialty
* WB/BOW at the 2004 TCVC Specialty
*Best Opposite Sex at th 2005 TCVC Specialty
In 2010, Glory turned 7 years old and was eligible to participate in the Veterans class. She was entered in a couple of specialties, showed wonderfully and earned some points towards her Grand Champion title. In September, the Vizsla Club of America held their 50th Anniversary National Events. I entered Glory at the last minute to support the entry and she was the 2010 Vizsla Club of America National Best of Breed Winner beating an entry of 472 dogs, the largest entry ever! Ms. Marjorie Martorella was the judge and she told me that Glory took her breath away the minute she laid eyes on her, and that her effortless movement was a delight to see.
In 2010, only being entered 5 weekends, Glory was the #6 Vizsla in Breed standings and #10 Vizsla in All-Breed Standings. She completed her Grand Champion requirements in January 2011.
Glory loves to pheasant hunt and accompanies Jeff every year as often as he will let her go. Glory finished her JH in the Spring of 2007. Otherwise, she loves to go pheasant hunting with Jeff. The 2006 hunting season was a great one for Glory. She excelled as the pheasant dog extrodanaire! In the field, Glory has a great nose and is a natural retriever.
Glory earned her Rally Novice title by getting her 3rd leg at the VCA Nationals in Dover, DE in October 2006.
In the house, Glory is our "busy bee". She is constantly looking for things to get into--whether it is coat pockets, purses, or bags. She is the counter sufer extrodanaire and I often will find her on top of the counters searching for food. However, she is also the cuddle bug and official meet and greeter of the house. She will be the first one to meet you at the door with that tail constantly wagging. She also loves to give her humans a lot of kissing and has perfected the jump and kiss. Glory has required us to have a great sense of humor and patience with her antics.
