Colby is our first vizsla, and it is he who we have to blame for introducing us to this wonderful breed.  When we first got him, our primary goal was to have a personal hunting dog.  Well, he has turned out to be just that and so much more!  Our breeder encouraged me to take a handling class to see if I would be interested in showing or not.  It only took a couple of classes and I was hooked!  Colby went on to finish his CH at 18 months of age with 3 back to back majors! (All points were owner-handled)  Within the next 10 months we also worked very hard in other venues and he quickly earned his JH, CD, NA and NAJ.

In the field, you will see a very confident dog.  This is what he would rather be doing than anything else in the world. Colby has a moderate range, a good nose, and a very stylish point.   He loves hunting those wild birds in SD and has made Jeff very proud many times in his tracking ability on wounded birds.

In the conformation ring, Colby has flowing movement and a front assembly that is hard to beat.

In the obedience ring, you will see a more serious Colby, as he aims to please and doesn't like it when he messes up.  However, his biddable temperament has enabled us to earn his CDX title.

In the agility ring, Colby moves with great efficiency and he tends to be more accurate than speedy.  So far we have earned his advanced titles and about half way done with his master titles.  I am hoping to get him back in the agility ring again sometime soon.

At home, Colby has the best temperament.  He is ALWAYS up for a game of fetch--it doesn't matter if it is a ball, frisbee, training dummy or bird.  He will retrieve it as many times as you are willing to throw it.  He loves to cuddle up on the couch, or sleep under the covers in bed at night.  He enjoys his new role as "big brother" to human sister Avery who came home in March 2005.

Are you going to throw the ball??
I thought there was a ball in here...plus I needed to cool off

This is one of Colby's favorite past times. He LOVES the tennis ball.
